I lived in silicon valley for 12 years hanging out in exotic car clubs, the virtual ate their prefrontal cortex. I can tell when a tech bro has never picked up a philosophy book, the virtual and the actual are too difficult for them. They externalize about every minute like Individualism is totally real.

I tilt them and get them to do ad hominems so I can prove to them in real time that they're not as in control as they believe they are.

They're so into "the self" they lost touch with the map.

About as much fake ass rationality as the machine they think it's going to save us all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this post (except for one tiny thing; the use of the very weird expression "lived experience" -- I've never understood how it's different from "experience" and it illustrates some kind of weird fealty to the woke cult, IMO).

In any case, otherwise it's fantastic, and congratulations on the Club of Rome membership. Let's hope that reality wins the day, and soon.

The best way I know to get a good dose of reality is always to shut down the computer, step outside, find a forest or a mountain or a prairie (almost gone), or even my own backyard, and stay there as long as possible with absolutely no agenda and nothing to do but notice what is around me.
